Lindsey J. porter

The imaginative paintings of American, Southern artist, Lindsey J. Porter are exhibited and collected across the U.S. and her most recent work has received attention from collectors and galleries, internationally. Born in Alabama, Porter had a very colorful childhood where creativity was innate and her artistic expression in the fine arts was encouraged. By 11 years old, Porter was an apprentice to a professional artist, and was selling her own artwork by the time she was teenager. Savannah College of Art and Design awarded her the May Poetter Scholarship and from there, she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts. After college, Porter started a fine art business, creating work in various mediums such as photography, film making, and painting. Merging the mediums of painting and photography, she developed a resin process for preserving photography that maintains conservation properties and quality. She worked closely with a paint developer for the world’s largest Dutch painting company to create this process. To this day, this technique is the first of its kind. Porter’s current discipline is fine art painting, in a variety of mediums. She has exhibited her work through numerous galleries and events across the country. Porter’s work can be spotted among a wide array of private and corporate collections nationally, and recently extends in private collections internationally. Current exhibiting galleries include: 1930 Gallery (Birmingham, AL), Blue Print Gallery (Dallas), Anne Irwin Fine Art (Atlanta), Anne Connelly Fine Art (Baton Rouge), SB. (Nashville), and in Serena & Lily Showrooms upon their curator’s request (Atlanta, GA, Westport, CT, Summit, NJ, & Boston, MA. Stores). A current series of works on paper, “Botanicals and Geometrics” derives from an intuitive process of abstracting form, line, and dimension. Porter’s loosely represented subjects are inspired by the organic variety of nature and painted solely from her memory and imagination. Recent publications include: Milieu Magazine, Veranda, Atlanta Homes & LifeStyles Magazine, Birmingham Homes & Gardens, Good Grit Magazine, Portico Magazine, and most recently featured in Luxe Interiors Magazine. Her studio is currently located in Birmingham, AL.
