I grew up the on the Eastern Shore of Mobile Bay in lower Alabama. Art is in my blood and I've loved drawing and painting for as long as I can remember. I studied art and history at Georgetown University as well as when I traveled abroad in Italy. While living in NYC after college, I loved exploring the galleries and museums and continued to drop in occasionally on figure drawing classes at the Art Students League, which was just a couple blocks from where we lived. I took a long hiatus from creating art after returning to Alabama for law school and beginning my career. There simply was no time! And then my husband and I started a family and had our four beautiful children in quick succession. Only recently did I get back to painting and it has enriched my life in a way that is hard to explain.
I am constantly inspired by color, light and the simple beauty of our world. At the heart of my art is an appreciation for all of God's creation and a desire to reflect on and capture some part of that beauty. If you have an idea or a reference photo you would like to have painted, please feel free to contact me with inquiries. I never mind answering questions!
